Standing at 3 inches tall with a width of 3.5 inches, the Walnut Vessel is a small yet striking piece that showcases the natural beauty of the wood. Each vessel undergoes an exceptionally thorough finishing process, including six grits of sandpaper, a gentle water bath to lift any remaining loose fibers, 0000 steel wool, and two different buffing pads that work the finishing oils deep into the wood. The process is completed with a final coat of wax applied at high speed on a piece of leather, enhancing the wood’s natural glow and creating a vessel that is as tactile as it is visually captivating.
To properly care for this item if used in the kitchen: Always rinse off any food and then gently wash the bowl or board by hand with warm-to-hot water and mild dish soap. Avoid abrasive cleaning products. Dry immediately. To ensure that any water absorbed by the wood evaporates, allow the piece to air-dry completely before putting it away.
